It would be nice if the package explorer had a way to expand elements that are hidden when the mylar filter is enabled. Some thoughts: - Selecting an element with children could show those children (including "+" buttons if those children also have children). - A dummy "more..." entry could be added to the bottom of tree listings that are filtered. Clicking on that entry would reveal the rest of the entries.
Have you tried Alt-Click on the parent of those the hidden nodes?
Hi Eugene. :-) Do you actually mean to imply that I should have read the documentation?!? :-) uh-- no I hadn't tried that. :-) Sorry. :-) Still, I think the suggestion here is valid: having some kind of visual indicator that this is possible and a visual way to access the feature would be nice, and would make the feature more discoverable from a usability point of view. (Please apply your sarcasm filter to the top part of this message. :-)
Maybe we can add "Show filtered elements" action into the popup menu. Mik, what do you think? BTW, it is weird that "Mark..." actions in the popup menu (i.e in Package Explorer) don't show the keyboard accelerator.
(In reply to comment #3) > Maybe we can add "Show filtered elements" action into the popup menu. Mik, what > do you think? Sounds reasonable. I would want the filtering to be re-enabled when focus goes away from the expanded tree node or its children though.
It should already work that way. Filter is restored when new uninteresting element is selected.
Cool; thanks
Documentation is buried here, not that you can also do some of this with the mouse: http://wiki.eclipse.org/index.php/Mylar_User_Guide#Alt.2BClick_navigation Regarding the extra affordance (e.g. like +) that's hard because the tree is native and in general Mylar does not control the viewers. I don't think that the extra node is worth it, because it would appear in too many places. "Browser Filtered" was an action in the popup menu on Mylar 0.1. I removed it to unclutter that menu, but that was at the cost of discoverability (i.e. you have to read documentation to find it). I think that with the 3.3 menu stuff we can make this action appear only if the view is in focused mode. I still don't have that 5 times faster task editor. It would of taken you less time. :-) 178721: "Mark..." actions in the popup menu don't show the keyboard accelerator https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=178721
Need to defer. All Focus action tooltips now mention Alt+click,
This was released with Mylyn 2.1.
