host eclipse: 3.3 M4
target eclipse: 3.3 M5
VM: IBM 1.5.0 SR3

- set a breakpoint in org.eclipse.jface.util.Policy.setLogDialog
- run the IDE under debug
- when the breakpoint is hit, the dialog arg is shown in the Variables view
- toggle Show Static Variables on
- it now shows the dialog arg twice, and no statics
- select a different stack frame, then select the top one again
- it now shows OK

This is the same update problem as in bug 173898.
