Description Eric Jain CLA 2007-01-05 13:25:23 EST
I created a local directory that I do not want to commit (it's a symbolic link to another directory that is already checked in), so I added it to the .cvsignore file via right-click -> "Add to .cvsignore". But now this folder keeps showing up in the "Synchronize" view, where Eclipse suggests deleting the contents of this dir! I've refreshed and restarted Eclipse, to no avail...

This is a bit of a tricky issue which stems from the fact that Eclipse doesn't recognize symlinks. The CVS plug-in sees the directory as being mapped to CVS since it contains CVS meta-data. This leads the CVS plug-in to believe that the folder has been explicitly shared which overrides the entry in the .cvsignore file. If you could use an Eclipse link, instead of a symlink, the CVS plug-in would properly ignore the folder (since Eclipse links are always ignored).
