I extracted several sets of TPTP testsuites ( about 350 files) in my test workspace. I created several Test launch configurations and every time when I switch between them I get the hourglass cursor for about 5 sec (I suspect it would be longer if I'll have more test suites in the workspace). I see a similar delay when I invoke the Run dialog. I encountered smaller wait times when I switch between the test suites Test pane (Run dialog - Test launch configuration page). Some heavy processing (the CPU utilization hits 100% during this blocked periods, the hard disc seems to be used also) is done behind the scene. Data caching should improve this behavior at least during the Run dialog session.
I believe this is for Jerome.
Since the Test Launch Configuration is now using the test navigator logical view's provider, I suspect that expected performance enhancement tracked by bugzilla_160221 should help in this situation.
Reassigning to the component leads to triage for 4.4.
Need to be checked when 160221 is delivered.
Targeting to future since not containable in 4.4.
As discussed on this week's Test Project call (January 22, 2007), the Test Project will focus on existing P1 - P2/Blocker - Major and P1/Normal and test creation/automation defects (omitting defects dependant on outstanding features) in TPTP 4.4. All other Test Project defects have been targeted to future. If this defect has been targeted to future and you/originator feel it should be completed in 4.4, please provide the necessary reason as a reply to this comment or a post to the Test Project mailing list (tptp-test-tooling-dev@eclipse.org). We will collectively triage and assess our resources to determine a case-by-case decision.
Correction: The Test Project mailing list is tptp-testing-tools-dev@eclipse.org.
The dependency has been fixed, please verify this defect since it should be fixed as well.
Reporter: Please verify and close in preparation for shutting down the TPTP 4.4 release. Thanks.
Closing by default since not closed by the originator in the 7+ months since being resolved. Please reopen if the issue is still present in the latest TPTP release or the resolution is not correct.
