Description Markus Keller CLA 2006-11-10 12:26:43 EST
I20061108-1600

I (mkeller) had rev. 1.78 of QuickFixProcessor.java in my workspace with outgoing changes. One change was the addition of line
        case IProblem.MethodMustOverrideOrImplement:
just after line
        case IProblem.MethodMustOverride:

I created a patch of this change, and Martin (maeschli) released it as rev. 1.79. When I synchronized, I got a conflict (expected). When I opened the compare editor, I did not see any changes, not even in the three-way comparison mode.

Expected:
- Left and right editor should mark changed lines in red.
- Red line in top editor showing where the line was inserted
- Select Next/Previous Change buttons should be enabled and jump to the changes.

When I add "//" at end of line
        case IProblem.MethodMustOverrideOrImplement:
in the left editor and save, still no changes are shown.

Expected:
- Change editor should update changes on save

When I close and reopen the comparison editor then, I finally see that line correctly highlighted as conflicting change.

There is a preference on the Text Compare Preference page to enable pseudo-conflicts. I think it would be reasonable to have an option to turn this on in the editor itself so I'll leave the bug open

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it and remove the stalebug whiteboard tag. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
