Active task that is marked as complete stays active.

-1 for this. I may need to commit that task... though that should be part of the automatically supported workflow.

The point Eugene brings up is important as it's a fairly common interaction.  

Michael: could you please add your point to bug 109552, which discusses automatic such workflows (e.g. complete, commit, deactivate).
