I noticed this today, when adding a .po-file to the repository: Eclipse asked for the filetype as which the file should be commited to the CVS. I retagged from Binary to ASCII and went on. 

The final Commit-dialog showed "binary" (the initial value) again. I went back and forth, but I kept that way. When I finally Commited anyway, the file got added correctly as "ASCII". So this seems to be a displaying issue.
