Task List shows incoming markers for any changes made on remote tasks, including new CC or fixing types in description. This is bit distracting, because not all the incoming changes actually interesting and user would have to open report to actually see that has been changed. So, it would be handy to have a mouse-over popup in Task List for those incoming changes that would show what fields has been changed (somehow similar to the summary shown in Bugzilla email notifications).
I agree. An alternative might be to have a column in the task list with this information (configurable of course) as that could permit search/sort over the information.
Hmm. Configurable columns seem different thing to me. This issue is related to the diff for the incoming changes only. As a heawyweight solution we could have comparison editor, that used to be available for bugzilla issues. From other hand, some of the incoming changes may not be as interesting, e.g. new people added or removed to CC: list. So, maybe Mylar should not show those changes as incoming at all, or at least allow to configure to exclude those changes (bugzilla allows to tweak email notifications in a similar way).
You are right that since its temporary information maybe a column isn't right. I agree that it should be lightweight so the comparison editor is to much. Mylar could incorporate a preference to set for which kinds of changes are interesting. But, its not clear to me that it can be set as a "CC" versus a new comment. It can be somewhat simulated now by having different query categories (i.e., one for bugs on which you are CCed) but I find this awkward to have so many categories.

I meant something different then that. See for example bugzilla email prefs at https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/userprefs.cgi?tab=email > It can be somewhat simulated now by having different query categories (i.e., > one for bugs on which you are CCed) but I find this awkward to have so many > categories. This is orthogonal. Quite often, I am not interested when CC's changed even in bugs I am interested in (means reported, commented or have myself in CC list).
I think we are talking about two groups of settings/interest values that might be needed: 1) settings/interest value preferences to describe when you want to see an incoming change (this is roughly the same as bugzilla email prefs and can be somewhat simulated by queries put on categories?) 2) settings/nterest value preferences (or ability to sort on columns) to describe the ordering in which you want to see the changes Does this capture it?
It seems like we addressed this when improving tooltip layout. Though there are some minor tweaks that are need to be fixed/improved for new tasks and outgoing changes.
Done with bug 166406 as mentioned in comment#6. Minor outstanding tweaks should be added to the UI Nits, bigger changes can be new bug reports. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 166406 ***
