Archive category quickly getting messed up with many repositories and queries. Major issue is that it does not show what query/category tasks came from, so tasks that came from different repositories all mixed up within single category. So, I wonder if there should be archive category for each regular category/query. Other possibility could be to keep link to the source category and allow to hide/select specific categories for the entire view, so Archive category would sho only tasks from selected once (assuming it will keep that link)
I just noticed that I already have over 20 queries. With web connector number will grow really quick... Multiple Task List views may help a little, but something more advanced has to be done about this.
Wow, that's a lot of queries, I only have 18 :) Yes, will make it a priority when I return.
This would also enable us to automatically move completed local tasks into the archive, making for more consistency between local and repository tasks.
Bug 182772 has enabled using nesting within the archive.
What I think would be good for this now that we support nesting in the tasklist is under the archive category show a node that represents a repository and then have all of the tasks under it.
(In reply to comment #5) > What I think would be good for this now that we support nesting in the tasklist > is under the archive category show a node that represents a repository and then > have all of the tasks under it. How about node per "query" or "category" where task came from? Or just have archive node right under the "query" node.
Not sure if this is the right issue, but i'd agree with comment 5 - i cannot drag&drop repository queries to categories. If that was possible, there'd be less 'information overload' ;) I can however drag&dop repository tasks themselves into categories, but I'd like to be able to do the same with the queries.
Kenney: we support grouping of queries via task working sets, not via categories. If this does not support your use case please comment on bug 153572. For an overview of the working set support please see the corresponding New & Noteworthy item: http://eclipse.org/mylar/new.php
For 2.1 let's address part of this via the change described on bug 202854. Additional improvements to the Archive category will require the redesign of this part of the UI, being tracked on bug 181388. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 181388 ***
