Description Randy D. Smith CLA 2006-07-14 16:45:48 EDT
Motivated by bug 150542, I need a bugzilla to fix the handling of license files for agntctrl native builds correctly once and for all. Right now we're depending on a hack, and a bad one at that... we look for files in $TEMP_LICENSE_HOME... which means we have to keep these spread out locations up-to-date, an effort fraught with peril. Instead, we need to REMOVE license inclusion from the compilation part of the build out on the native machines, and instead consolidate it in the build scripts "repackaging" once the zipfiles are pulled back from the native machines like we're doing for CBE, JVMTI, etc.

Hubert, you should probably throw this over to Karla for her to decide if 4.2.1 or 4.3, and whether to assign it back to me.
Comment 1 Hubert Leung CLA 2006-07-17 11:50:14 EDT
reassigning to Karla per Randy's request.
Comment 2 Karla Callaghan CLA 2006-07-17 13:19:18 EDT
I set the target for 4.3, but, if it is more time consuming to continue to do it the wrong way vs. fixing it, we can get approval for this in 4.2.1.

This defect/enhancement is targeted to a closed release. Please triage and re-target to a current/future release.
Comment 4 Randy D. Smith CLA 2007-02-08 15:55:50 EST
I think we handled most of this on the Windows side for 4.3, but didn't close it down because there was more to do on the Linux side. So I'll set it for future now, and it should be reassigned to kkazakev@intel.com ... when he's up and functional as buildmeister on our side.

I would like to get back to this defect on completion of bug 182085. It seems amount of related work may significantly reduced.

As of TPTP 4.6.0, TPTP is in maintenance mode and focusing on improving quality by resolving relevant defects and increasing test coverage through test creation, automation, Build Verification Tests (BVTs), and expanded run-time execution. As such, TPTP is not delivering enhancements. As part of the TPTP Bugzilla housecleaning process (see http://wiki.eclipse.org/Bugzilla_Housecleaning_Processes), this enhancement is resolved as WONTFIX. For this enhancement to be considered, please re-open with an attached patch including the Description Document (see http://www.eclipse.org/tptp/home/documents/process/development/description_documents.html), code (see http://www.eclipse.org/tptp/home/documents/resources/TPTPDevGuide.htm), and test cases (see http://www.eclipse.org/tptp/home/documents/process/TPTP_Testing_Strategy.html).
