Description Thomas Schindl CLA 2006-07-11 11:42:32 EDT
I just discovered that the CellEditor in Trees is positioned wrong. This only happens on Linux and can not be reproduced on Win32. It somehow seems that the CellEditor is shifted by the width of the TreeIcon.

Which window manager are you using?
Comment 3 Thomas Schindl CLA 2006-07-12 02:44:07 EDT
Ahm, what does the window manager has to do with it? Or do you want to know which version of gtk I'm using? I'm running Mandriva-Linux with

GTK-Version: gtk+2.0-2.9.4-1
Gnome: gnome2-2.14.1-1
X11: xorg-x11-server-7.1.0-1 (although I think it doesn't matter)

Tom, I can't really tell from the image..do the tree's entries have images or not? I know that the Cell Editor gets offset to avoid the entrie's image (if any), see bug 97737.

It may be worth trying the scenario in that defect on your box to see if it at least works the way it's described.

BTW, the reason to ask for the platform specifics is that, while we all strive to be completely platform compliant, there are indeed cases where a particular platform will exhibit a behaviour inconsistent with the others and knowing which one you're using makes it easier to determine if it's a known effect or not. (it's still a defect...;-).

No. There are no images icon on the left is the +/- symbol, the dark grey part is the small part of the label that is visible because not overlayed by the cell-editor and what's left is the CellEditor.

You mean applying the patch and see what happens?

No problem I just couldn't understand that Tod asked me about my window manager whereas the cardinal question should have been my gtk/gnome-versions in my terminology the window manager is something completely different an GTK-App is an GTK-App no matter whether your window manager is KDE/Gnome/IceWM/... .

Could the new API requested in bug #178008 help us here? Need to investigate a bit how all this positioning is working.
Comment 8 Eric Moffatt CLA 2007-07-11 14:21:59 EDT
Tom, is this still an issue? If so, have you any more input?

I'll tag this for a look...
Comment 9 Thomas Schindl CLA 2008-02-12 11:16:03 EST
Can reproduce with 3.4M5
Comment 10 Eric Moffatt CLA 2008-02-13 15:18:51 EST
Tom, what do you use to reproduce this ? Do I need anything special or can I cause the standard install to show it?
Comment 11 Thomas Schindl CLA 2008-02-13 15:23:36 EST
Sorry Eric meant to write CAN'T REPRODUCE in 3.4M5 => WORKSFORME
Comment 12 Eric Moffatt CLA 2008-02-13 15:55:12 EST
Even better...;-).
