Description Rohit Khariwal CLA 2006-07-10 03:02:04 EDT
When the context help is opened in the infopopup, this info popup also contains the link to the dynamic help with the other defined link.
There is no way to remove this link.

The link was intended to ensure that the new (and preferred) dynamic help view/tray is easily accessible and that users are avare of it. Do you want to remove it because you have problems while following the link or you just don't like it?

Thanks for reply

Actually i do not want to use dynamic help view in my application. Is it possible to remove that link from the infopop?.

Actually i want to disable all the features of dyanmic help in my application.

Is this flexibility not available in Eclipse? One of the reason i could think of why Dynamic Help view is not desirable is that when Dynamic Help view appears in some perspective it reduces the available area for the exsiting views in the perspective. I believe it would be a good idea to provide the flexibility of disabling this feature.

You're correct, there's currently no API or preference to disable this functionality. We would need to add support for this. Perhaps we can add a preference (and a product customization preference) to use only infopops.

Currently, is there any workaround to bypass the info popup and to open the help window directly on F1?

Should this be considered as an enhancement?

For bypassing the infopop see bug 88822.

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
