Description Ricky Clarkson CLA 2006-07-05 09:08:16 EDT
The global expand all combination move, Alt-NumPadPlus, does not work in the Search View.

I would like to see it work, or even be on a different key.

Er, Alt-NumPadMultiply

In JDT, CTRL+NUMPAD_PLUS is expand, and CTRL+NUMPAD_MULTIPLY is Expand all. They also have keybindings for collapse and collapse all.

Right now (3.4M3) pressing NumPadMultiply repeatedly effectively expands all search results, NumPadPlus expands nearest branch. Pressing them with Alt doesn't work but I'm on a laptop so it might be it.

It's great that this shortcut work but would it be hard to add ExpandAll to context menu? Frankly, I was unaware of this shortcut until I found this bug report.

Ctrl+ abovementioned keys also don't work for me (on a laptop, so I can't be sure it's a bug or not).

Numpad * is the Expand shortcut defined by Windows OS for trees.

For this reason I don't think we should provide s search specific shortcut.

Heh, I work on Linux/Gnome but this key works as I described above anyway :)

Martin, you marked this bug as wontfix but didn't answer my question about adding a context menu entry for Expand All. Should I file separate bug for this or I shouldn't bother because you'll mark it as wontfix anyway? :)

Yes, I think a separate bug would be better, but I just added the action to the context menu > 20071106
