Testing on S-1.5RC2-200605010522, WSDL files are displayed in the project explorer with the XML icon (the page with an X). I seem to remember that WSDL files used to have a WSDL specific icon.

This is a platform issue. Please see https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=107121.

It appears that in order to improve performance, the platform uses a "guessing" algorithm for icons. This algorithm uses the "general is better" policy for choosing between content types in a hierarchy. Thus it picks the XML icon over the WSDL icon.

Valentin, I don't think this bug should be resolved as won't fix as it details a real problem. The bug referenced in comment #1 does not appear to be releated to this issue. I'm reopening so you can resolve as a dup of the platform bug that's open to deal with this issue.

Lawrence, the fix for the bug I mention in comment #1 is the cause of this bug. Anyway, I opened https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=146951 against Platform UI. I am marking this a duplicate of that bug.
