CTRL Key bindings and F-Key bindings for Eclipse seem to fail after a certain time. I user the M6/Callisto download and added the JST with all the dependencies through Callisto. This is using windows. I am debugging a remote application not using the WTP server tools, but rather JDK1.4 with a -debug attribute. As I am working tracing and adding breakpoints, at one time (could not figure out what I do exactly), the Ctrl key bindings stop working, for example CTRL+S no longer saves, Ctrl+Space no longer brings up the context information, The F3 key no longer opens the declaration and the Delete key also seems to stop working. At that point those are working fine in other windows application and some Windows standard key buindings (Such as pressing Alt S brings me in the menu uinder the Source heading) are still working in ecliose. I am in the Debug perspective at the time, trying to modify files in a Java editor. Restarting Eclipse makes the problem go away for another 10-15 minutes. This happened multiple times today (At least 5 times) and this is my first day of really using M6/Callisto updatate site. This is very irritating and I will most likely go back to my previous install base for this project.

http://www.magma.ca/~pollockd/despumate/bindingsHowTo.html Please turn on the debug tracing mentioned in the above article, especailly keyBindings, keyBindings.verbose, and contexts ... capture the output to a log file, and then please attach the file to the bug when you encounter this scenario. Created attachment 38965 [details] Logging produced by using the debug options suggested This is the output from the requested debugging information. I hope it helps. You can look at the F3 Key which is the first I noticed the problem on this run. From the time I started debugging until now ellapsed 17 minutes.
Additional info: I think I can reproduce it more clearly: 1. Go to debug perspective 2. With a java file open 3. Edit a breakpoint property by 3a. checking the Enable Condition checkbox 4. Close the box 5. Try to use the Delete key (backspace seems to work) The key binding is then lost.
Thanx for the additional info. What is the version of eclipse? I looks like you have the breakpoint condition editor bug 133594. That was fixed after 20060406. If you have a build from before that (and I think calisto M6 is based on 3.2M6) I'll close this as a dup. Thanx PW
You are correct, this looks like a dup. Version: 3.2.0 Build id: I20060331-2000 They just announced Callisto RC1 is now available since yesterday on the eclipse site, but everything I see is about M6 on the update site, and the update manager states I have no updates to download. I might have to go back to my old version for a week or two.
Thanx PW *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 133594 ***
