The number of columns in report is not known during design time
example number of months

the data may bring 3 months in one report and all the 12 months in another report
my design is not constraint to the number of columns that might be returned during runtime

1st report
jan    feb   mar
---    ---   ----


2nd report
jan   feb   mar  apr  may
---   ---   ---  ---  ---

In the 2nd report the dataset returns more columns based on data

how can i program this in birt report tool

We have the same requirement for a matrix component in our Learning Content Management System.

For example, we wish to have a list of Year Levels (unknown amount) on one axis, and a list of Key Learning Areas (also unknown amount) on the other axis.  The values would be a count of course plans for each Year Level / Key Learning Area.

Cross tab feature is avaiable since BIRT 2.2 RC0
