In the bug #118811, one consensus seems to arise around the fact that missing images to completly brand a product should be generated. Since the only place where users can provide the images is in the product editor, it would be great if the product editor could generate the missing images if any. The advantage of doing it in the UI are: 
- better user experience as less magic is happening
- people can see the generated images
- PDE Build don't have to become dependent on SWT

It would be a better user experience in many ways.  In particular, it gets around the problem of the the currently-required, hi-res images that cannot be created without special software.  They are pretty, but time and resource consuming to generate (http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/dnwxp/html/winxpicons.asp).
