comparing with "latest from head" even with no cahnges sometimes instead of saying "no changes detected" opens the compare-view but with no differences annotated.
consequently "replace with latest from head" shows a rather useless prompt "there are uncommited changes ..." but no information which changes eclipse detects but not shows.
comparing with cvs shows a lot of differences consinting of entirely whitespaces -- it's not really clear to me why sometimes one whitespace in my local file meets 3 whitespaces in the cvs and sometimes not. even preferneces -> general -> compare/patch -> ignore whitespace seems to have no effect.
