Here is an article for the Tabbed Properties View that has been added to the platform for Eclipse 3.2 M5

+1.
This is a new framework going into the Platform in M5. It's a push-down of a framework already in use in WTP. Clients will want to know how to use it, so it would be nice to have this article published for M5.

The one thing that I had trouble with is the notion of sections. I had to go back in the document and re-read about section after I'd gotten about 3/4 of the way through. I would certainly benefit from a little more discussion around the concepts earlier in the document. What is a contributor and what is it for? What is a section? I gather from the images and discussion that a section is basically an editor for a single property. An introduction to your example would be helpful as well.

Updated based on comments and I added some more text as requested.
Must a section be a "composite surrounding a group of widgets" or can it be a "widget or a composite containing a group of widgets"? I assume the latter...

Before: "It is important to note that a section is simply a composite surronding a group of widgets." After: "It is important to note that a section is simply a composite. A composite can contain an infinite combination of widgets." Would this be better?

(In reply to comment #11) > "It is important to note that a section is simply a composite. A composite can > contain an infinite combination of widgets." Actually, if it is the case that it must be a composite, then the original works (with spelling corrections :-)). So I should then assume that a composite is required. That is, you can't just make a section be a Text all by itself?
You could make the entire section a Text widget given that standard SWT createControls() provides the parent composite.
May I suggest that you put this article online in the Eclipse Wiki? That would make access and editing more simple :-)
Agreed that we need to come up with a better way to edit articles. Perhaps you can take this to a new bug. I'll put this live over the weekend or Monday depending on how the kids' hockey schedule consumes me...
