The memory view needs to know when a refresh starts and ends. This is troublesome in the async viewer world, and not something we originally designed for. 

Needs investigation. Will require update request chanins to be maintained to know what updates were created as a result of a "root" update/refresh request.

Not sure what we'll do for this yet. We might be able to provide notifications for "refresh activity started" and "refresh activity quiet".
