I've created overlays for repositories and web, and we should use them instead of having task specify their custom icons.

I think there should be some possibility for repository providers to contribute their own icons. E.g. Jira is using whole bunch of icons for various task types.

Agreed, and the overlay-based approach will enable this without sacrificing consistency.

Done, and task type overlays are supported.
