I have a web app with 5000 completely empty JSP files in it. I opened one of the files, typed a single character, and saved. The validator decided to validate every single JSP file in the web app, which takes several minutes (see related bug). It doesn't appear to do this all the time (this happened on maybe the fourth time I did this), but given the validation hit we've got to be more careful about when we kick off validation on the entire project.

Isn't this dependent on what notification IValidators get from the framework, or does it only happen w/ JSP Validator and not the other Validators?

gee, first we stopped validating whole workspace needlessly, now you want us to stop validating whole projects needlessly :) 

We'll investigate and develop test cases post 1.0.

I've spent a lot of time lately investigating performance issues with the JSP validator on extremely large workspaces. I have not noticed this issue in modern WTP builds. Resolving.
