Accessibility check for Eclipse 3.2 M3 on Mac. I found that I wasn't able to use the keyboard (I tried tabbing and using Ctrl-F5) to access toolbars on views, the workbench toolbar, fast view toolbar, and perspectives toolbar.
A very simple work-around is to access the toolbar using VoiceOver keys. To do this, type command+F5 to turn on the VoiceOver (VO) screen reader. (command+F5 again will turn it off) Then use control+option+arrow keys ("VO keys") to get into the toolbar. VoiceOver draws a bold border rectangle around each item that is "under the VO cursor" and it speaks the accessible name of the item.
Steve, shall we call this one Won't Fix, or leave it open?
Leave it open but take away the accessibility key word. Keyboard access to the tool bar would be great for everyone, but VoiceOver lets disabled people get at it. Agree?
Agree.

I would expect that at least Ctrl+F5 brings the keyboard focus to the toolbar. This is a normal Mac OS X feature that works in other applications (e.g. Finder, Mail, System Preferences, ...) as well without VoiceOver. In Mail and System Preferences, the Tab key also navigates to the toolbar. This would also be nice in Eclipse (via Tab or Ctrl+Tab).
SSQ, do you think the suggestion in comment 6 to add ctrl+F5 support to give focus to Mac toolbar is something we would consider?
I am not sure about Ctrl+F5. Tab and Ctrl+Tab are the usual way to navigate between SWT controls. The problem is that the toolbar will not accept focus. I believe if we fix this, Tab and Ctrl+Tab will work properly.
This is now working in 3.6. Toolbars now accept keyboard focus.
