As can be seen on http://www.blogger.com/profile/12899714 and at the bottom of http://www.eclipsezone.com/articles/beaton-interview/ Eclipse Evangelist Wayne Beaton is in danger of catching a bad cold soon if further exposed to public while naked and wet. One proposal for remedy can be found at http://borisoneclipse.blogspot.com/2005/10/howto-splash-screen-with-progress.html The latter seems to suggest that wearing cool sunglasses rather is the way to go ;)
+1 !!!! Someone get this man dressed. D.
(In reply to comment #1) > +1 !!!! > > Someone get this man dressed. > > D. Please make sure to feed him as well
Wayne, what size do you need? XL?
L or XL will do. This is going to be embarassing, isn't it?
Wayne, how about a photo showing you wearing a T-Shirt that has that half-naked photo printed on it? Nobody could then say that you were displayed naked on a public photo showing you in your function as an Eclipse official. And the people both in the know and inclined could still, uhm, appreciate that sportive shape. Or maybe just a simple Eclipse T-Shirt, the foundation should have something like that somewhere, and it would suite an Eclipse Evangelist (TM) just fine, I'd think :)
(In reply to comment #4) > L or XL will do. This is going to be embarassing, isn't it? The obvious solution is not to photograph Wayne without clothing. Of course, then Wayne doesn't get to show off his, uhm, athletic physique. We might also (as Boris has done) simply digitally alter the photograph to show him in something appropriately sporty like a wetsuit. However, we might also address the idea that Wayne might not have any decent clothing of his own, and being a college student we might also infer that he's generally broke. Luckily, Ottawa has a Salvation Army outlet from which Wayne might be able to procure some clothing on a slim budget. 1010 Belfast Road in Ottawa (on the northeast outskirts of town) - (613) 241-3232 If Wayne prefers more of a shopping experience, however, he might check out Value Village or other second-hand stores in the area. Trendy clothing stores are all over the place in Ottawa.
Finally, after the M3 milestone week, I had some time to work on this. It is not going to be embarassing, after all I would like to have a beer together when I deliver the t-shirt. I have ordered it online, after a failed attempt to find a local business for this. The say it will be delivered in 2 days, but I doubt it. There is some hope though that it will arrive this year.
Are you sure you're ready to mark this T-shirt as API? I mean, it doesn't even have one consumer yet. Has it been reviewed by the PMC? Maybe it should be just be experimental for the first release.
In reply to comment <a href="https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=112631#c6">#6</a>... What makes you think that I'm a college student? While it's true that I'm emotionally immature, I'm quite along way away from being a college student...
Closing as WONTFIX. Eclipse grrls admire Wayne for his nude torso. Our female community needs at least one male sex-symbol, so it might as well be Wayne. =)
Reopening since the original issue still needs to be addressed. (You gave this a +1 yourself in comment #1.) Please don't close bugs if they are not assigned to you. We are following a process here, aren't we? If your issue with the female community still persists, please open a new bugzilla (and get the female community to vote for it!).
You're presuming too much about the sexual orientation of female Eclipsers! I protest! I am taking this to the PMC.
(In reply to comment #12) > You're presuming too much about the sexual orientation of female Eclipsers! I protest! I am taking this to > the PMC. And on the other hand, he might be presuming too much about the sexual orientation of *male* Eclipsers. I'd bet that in absolute numbers, there's more Eclipse boys than girls admiring Wayne's nude torso (taking into account the presumably low percentage of grrls and the usually estimated 2-5% of alternate sexual orientation) Thanks Wayne for volunteering to brighten up their day a little :-P
This has been a lot of fun for me. However, I'm a little concerned that the discussion heading in a direction that may be offensive to some folks and ask that we bring it back to more of a make-fun-of-Wayne tone. I especially appreciate that at least some folks think that I look young enough to be a college student... I should also take this opportunity to make it known that I am indeed wearing a bathing suit that is tied up nice and tight to avoid a repeat of the first year's "crack" incident... It's probably past time to provide a little background. Every year for the past 9 years, on the first day of January, a group of my friends and I head down to the Rideau River (specifically, we go to Mooney's Bay), cut a hole in the ice and then jump in one-by-one. We do this for two reasons: (1) because it's actually a lot of fun and (2) to raise money for the local children's hospital (CHEO). Last year, we managed to raise more than $5,000. This year, we're trying to do even more. I know that a lot of us are in the Ottawa area. If you want to participate this year (and maybe yourself be the focus of next year's bug report) let me know. You're welcome to join in on the fun!
Wayne, thank you for the background information. I would like to come (to watch ;-) but will not be in Ottawa at that time. I received the t-shirt today, and would like to meet so that finally, this bug can be marked as fixed. Your explanation made me read the EclipseZone interview again, where I learned that you don't drink beer. So maybe meeting over a glass of ice water would be more fitting?
T-shirt has been given to Wayne.
Oh come on, what does it look like?!

More than enough material to mark this bug as verified. If anybody else would like to have a fine t-shirt, you can order them at: http://splash.spreadshirt.com I had to open a shop to order one, and no, I don't make any money with this.
I really like that friendly evangelist stance in #16. Come here my coder sheep :-)
Hey, how come there's no XL?
Very strange. I tried creating a new design ("Canadian Version"), but it is not available in XL, too. I contacted Spreadshirt, and hope they can fix this soon.
Here is the answer I received from Spreadshirt: Hello Boris, Thank you for your email. The XL Navy T Shirt is currently out of stock, that is why this size option is not available in your store at the moment. We are expecting stock to be replenished this week so you should see the XL option appear in the drop-down menu very soon. Please let us know if we can be of any further assistance. Sincerely, Joni Painter Spreadshirt.com - Service
It looks like we have a regression on this defect in the latest build: http://galeri.milliyet.com.tr/tamsayfa/20060102yilbasi/default.asp?id=10 Boris, are there no automated tests for this?
