If such an attribute is introduced, it should be a pointer to another update
site, i.e. not "auto-install" but something like "install-from='http://...'".

"Select Required" and associate sites will do this.

Yes, that button was added in 3.2. But does it also look for features on other sites or only on the currently scanned update site?

Actually it was added in 3.1. As far as we know it works across sites.
