This request has come up several times on the mylar-dev list and is a natural progression for the two seperate Bugzilla support plug-ins. On mylar-dev Eugene offered some good suggestions for how to proceed: ----------- Maybe it would be possible to do such migration/merge incrementally? At first move only minimal part of issue-tracking repos view (individual issues and registered queries without any details), new repos wizard and minimum extension points for 3rd party providers and integration with mylar... I believe these things are primarily reside in Jeff's plugins. Then somebody can merge other functionality and all bugzilla improvements. ----------- Anyway, if you are planning to add other providers to Mylar then maybe you can move at least minimally needed infrastructure from bugzilla plugin? At least new repository wizard and extension points for predefined queries...
Unclear how this would happen at this point since Jeff Pound has not been reachable. But that doesn't reduce the urgency of supporting multiple providers. I will also explore the feasibility of reusing some of the old Platform Team code that Jeff forked.
If Jeff don't support this, then fall back to the original plugin wouls be the best option. After all we only need minimum of the infrastructure, namely: -- add tracker wizard -- trackers view (here we can actually cut off the UI/data model leaving only repository root node because the rest would go into the mylar tasks. -- all extension points related to above (panels for repository wizard, data provider, etc). The rest can be imported later (if even needed) or/and back-back-ported from Jeff's plugin (if license permits).
Mylar will provide all of the features suggested by comment#2. The support is simlar to the way that the platform/team plug-in worked, but there was too little commonality to bother merging (see 120952). *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 120952 ***
