Description Mik Kersten CLA 2005-08-29 12:53:20 EDT
Needs to support:
- standard JDK 1.5 build
- retroweaver-based JDK 1.4 build
Comment 1 Mik Kersten CLA 2006-06-26 14:17:06 EDT
This would be nice, but the PDE build process has been sufficient so far.
Comment 2 Nathan Hapke CLA 2006-06-30 12:11:33 EDT
I realize this was written for eclipse 3.0, but: http://www.eclipse.org/articles/Article-PDE-Automation/automation.html

Modeling has a good process, we should consider reusing it if possible and bugging Nick Boldt if not ;)

Mik:

The Modeling release engineering story is here [1], though there are no
Book of Modeling quotes [2] there yet:

[2]http://home.pacific.net.au/~drjon/mozilla.html,
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Book_of_Mozilla

One of these days I'll post screenshots so you can see what the web UI
looks like for running, testing and promoting builds. You can see a sample
build verification page (it's also the downloads page) here [3].

As the wiki is an ever-evolving document, if you encounter problems or
things are unclear/missing, I'll happily work with you to improve on it.

Do you have a link, Rob? Thanks.

There is a bit of documentation on how to do Mylyn releases which is mostly relevant to committers:

 http://wiki.eclipse.org/Mylyn/Release_Howto

This readme file is supposed to explain how to do a Mylyn headless build but it's still "work in progress".

 http://dev.eclipse.org/viewcvs/index.cgi/org.eclipse.mylyn/org.eclipse.mylyn.releng/readme.txt?root=Tools_Project&view=co

Andrew, please ask if you have any specific questions or need additional scripts / map files etc.
