Description Simon Gunzenreiner CLA 2005-08-02 12:10:49 EDT
The more projects in a workspace, the longer the "Add and remove projects"
action will take. In my case it simply hangs with 30 projects. In general this
action seems to take very long

Hi Simon,

What build are you using? We already identified a major wst.common performance
bug which is supposed to be fixed in 0.7.
Comment 2 Simon Gunzenreiner CLA 2005-08-02 13:29:54 EDT
Hi Tim

Well I am pretty sure that I am using 0.7 - all my plugin files are from the 29
of Juli 05. Do you want me to attach my workspace (1.6 MBytes)?
Comment 3 Tim deBoer CLA 2005-08-02 14:39:14 EDT
Hi Simon,
Ok, sounds like a second problem then. I don't think bugzilla supports
attachments that large, so if you could post it to an ftp site or email it to me
that would be great.
Comment 4 Tim deBoer CLA 2005-08-04 18:12:32 EDT
Built some pretty extensive performance tests to test this and see how long it
takes on WTP 0.7. Even with 25 Web projects in the workspace, it only took an
average of 0.75s to open the wizard. We can do better, but I doubt this is the
problem that you're seeing. I'll try to expand the tests to include an existing
server as well in case this is the problem, but if you could still send/post
your workspace it would help.
Comment 5 Tim deBoer CLA 2005-08-21 18:31:05 EDT
I've added several performance tests to the next build. Oddly enough, I'm now
seeing around 4-5s for the first open of the wizard if there are no servers
(possibly due to the load time for the generic server plugin?), but this drops
down to 500ms when a Tomcat server exists in the workspace. In either case,
reopening the wizard only takes 200-300ms.

Thanks for sending me the workspace. It helped me reproduce the problem and
identify that this problem is caused by the same bug as 105190.
