The FTP plugin doesn't work across sessions because the username/password isn't loaded when it should. This causes unexpected behaviour and error messages, with no option of re-entering the login information. Reproduce like this: 1. Create a new FTP site. 2. Restart Eclipse. 3. Try to use the previously created site and watch the error message (503 if I remember correctly.)
Created attachment 24366 [details] Proposed fix The login information is already saved in the .keyfile. This patch just loads it when the rest of the FTP site information is loaded.
Thanks for the patch, I tweeked it a bit in order to fix WebDAV as well.

You can put this file in the eclipse\plugins\org.eclipse.target.ftp_1.0.0\ directory of your Eclipse implementation. The jarfile was compiled in a win32 OS. Make sure to backup the old .jar file first.

The problem has been fixed in 3.2. The FTP/WebDAV support is not supported and there is no plan to provided patches for previous releases.
