Description amehrega CLA 2005-06-27 16:22:26 EDT
According to the problems view, there is over 2000 instances of using deprecated
APIs. This needs to be cleaned up.

This applies to all the plug-ins of the Test component.
Comment 1 Ruth Lee CLA 2005-06-29 14:00:54 EDT
Bulk deferral of all defects except for the following:
   1. blocker
   2. critical
   3. major
   4. README
   5. web documentation
I didn't read each defect individually, so if I've mistakenly deferred your
bugzilla when I shouldn't have, then please change the target back to 4.0 i4.
Comment 2 Mark D Dunn CLA 2005-10-06 15:52:43 EDT
target for 4.2 since we don't have Test UI resources to fix in 4.1.
Comment 3 Mark D Dunn CLA 2006-02-17 11:05:22 EST
This will be a long and ongoing solution as it involves work from many developers to handle their deprecated API's. I would imagine the fix for this will take more than one release to complete.
Comment 4 Mark D Dunn CLA 2006-05-10 16:05:47 EDT
retarget to 4.2 iteration 4. however, unfortuntely it doesn't look like there will be time or resources available to do this in 4.2.
Comment 5 Mark D Dunn CLA 2006-05-23 09:31:33 EDT
This will not be done in 4.2. Retarget to 4.3 .
Comment 6 Mark D Dunn CLA 2006-10-19 10:47:53 EDT
Reassign to Jerome since this is a Test.UI defect.
Comment 7 Jerome Gout CLA 2006-10-19 12:40:50 EDT
Don't we need to wait for new major release (5.0) to perform such API changes ?

Anyway, this can not be done for 4.3, it is too late (4.3 i3).
Comment 8 Paul Slauenwhite CLA 2006-10-19 14:07:43 EDT
If this is a case of USING deprecated APIs, we can change the invocations to their substitutes at any time (post 4.3). Removal of our deprecated APIs cannot be done until two major releases after the deprecation is first shipped and the removal is well documented and publicized.
Comment 9 Jerome Gout CLA 2006-11-06 09:36:53 EST
Retarget to 4.4 since all non-blocking/critical defects will be deferred
as decided in AG call.
Comment 10 Jerome Gout CLA 2007-01-16 08:22:04 EST
Won't be able to tackle this defect for 4.4.
I guess this would be a distributed effort among all team members.
