The new Java Browsing perspective really rocks!!! However, when I'm in the Java 
Browsing perspective, I'd like to see just the source for the selected method. 
This feels like a natural extension of the way the source code is presented in 
the Browsing perspective. However, when I'm viewing the "traditional" Java 
perspective, I'd like to view the complete java file, as I'm used to. This is 
currently not possible, since the "Show source of selected elements only" 
setting is global, and not a per-perspective setting.

I added bug 20155 as dependent bug since it suggest to move the button to the
preferences.

Having read all the comments the preferences page would have a radio group with
( ) Always show selected element in segmented mode
( ) Do not use segmented mode
( ) Toolbar button allows to toggle for the whole workbench
( ) Configure behavior for each perspective

Selecting the last item would enable a table where the behavior can be configured.

Simply enable the action set on the perspectives where you like to see the tool bar button. See bug 20155 for details.
