Description Michael Valenta CLA 2005-06-16 11:35:52 EDT
I have the SWT XP maifest installed. The Synchronize view shows several
different types of Synchronizae pages (Workspace, Compare, Merge) and each
have a different toolbar. When I switch between pages, the toolbar repopulates
properly but does not get repositioned properly. I will attach a few
screenshots that illustrate the problem.

To reproduce this, start Eclipse and make sue the SWT XP manifets is being
used. Perform a Team>Synchrize on a project and a Comapre with Another Branch
and Version. Switch between the two pages in the sync view using the dropdown
at the far left of the view's toolbar. When I do this, the toolbar is not
reprositioned properly. Resizing the window fixes the problem.

VI says this is a dup.
Comment 5 Veronika Irvine CLA 2005-06-20 12:44:23 EDT
I can reproduce this problem on Windows with or without the manifest and also on
Linux with Motif and on Mac OS X( GTK does not support wrapping toolbars so I
see something completely different on GTK).

The problem may be more obvious with the manifest on Windows because the toolbar
items become wider.

To recreate the error, make the Synchronize view wide enough so that it shows
the entire toolbar on one line when you are comparing with another
Branch/Version but narrow enough so that when you synchronize a project, the
toolbar wraps to two lines.

When you switch between the two different results using the drop down, the top
part of the viewform is not resizing.

If you start with the Compare results and switch to the Sychronize results, the
toolbar does not grow and some of the toolitems can not be seen. Alternatively,
if you start with the Synchronize results and switch to the Compare results,
there is an empty row showing because the toolbar does not shrink. Resizing the
view in any way corrects the layout.

Moving to the UI team because causing the layout is up to the application.

The misaligned toolbar is another problem. I think Stefan (or maybe MVM) has a
bug report for this already.
Comment 7 Michael Van Meekeren CLA 2005-06-20 13:01:49 EDT
Yes. does the toolbar fix itself when you resize the view?
Comment 8 Veronika Irvine CLA 2005-06-20 13:26:00 EDT
The "clipped" toolbar fixes itself when resized. Don't know about the
misaligned one - I have not seen this one yet.
Comment 9 Michael Valenta CLA 2005-06-20 13:33:49 EDT
Resizing fixes the aligment problem as well.
Comment 10 Michael Van Meekeren CLA 2005-09-07 17:33:01 EDT
Paul, since your investigating other view toolbat layout issues I figure this is
appropriate for you as well.
Comment 11 Markus Keller CLA 2006-01-13 05:48:58 EST
The relayouting problem after switching between pages is the same as bug 122639.
The clipping of the description is the same as bug 93878.

IMO, these bugs should have a higher priority than P4, since they can be very annoying, depending on your view stacking and work style.
Comment 12 Paul Webster CLA 2006-01-13 07:07:30 EST
It's not that these bugs aren't important or won't be addressed for 3.2 (time permitting). I use the priorities for bug management.

P4 means I've read the description ... but makes no promises as to when I'll work on it :-)

Later,

We're going to see this bug a lot more now that the XP manifest is on by default.

Is this still a problem in 3.3?

Comment 18 Michael Valenta CLA 2006-09-28 15:26:18 EDT
Given that bug 158214 was recently entered, it would appear that this is still an issue. However, it looks like it could be a duplciate of bug 122639.
Comment 19 Paul Webster CLA 2006-09-28 19:27:03 EDT
looks like a dup
