Description
Olivier Thomann
Can you tell us what command would toggle the vertical bar (I guess you mean the
vertical ruler on the left of the editor)? I'm not aware of such a command or
out of the box key binding.
>But Ctrl + Shift + / is doing it...
The key binding architecture is based on the keys you press. I assume that on
your keyboard '/' is not a (primary) key but needs to be pressed using
Ctrl+Shif+'some other key' like on my Swiss German keyboard where I have to
press Ctrl+Shift+7 in order to get Ctrl+/
BTW: do can you attach a link that show the French Canadian keyboard layout?
Yes, I was talking about the vertical ruler. '/' can be found in the numeric part of the keyboard. Using it has an effect on the vertical ruler and not the comment. For the French Canadian layout, there are in fact two. One is called Canadian Multilingual Standard. And the other one is called French Canadian. In the French Canadian, in order to get Ctrl + Shift + \, you need to press: Ctrl + Shift + AltGr + \, because '\' is AltGr + #. In the Canadian Multilingual Standard, it is not possible to get this combinaison, because '\' is Shift + /. You can get a French Canadian keyboard layout: http://www.microsoft.com/globaldev/keyboards/kbdca.htm You also have a picture there: http://www3.uakron.edu/modlang/french/keyboard.html The Canadian Multilingual layout is there: http://www.microsoft.com/globaldev/keyboards/kbdcan.htm Note that the '/' on the numerical keypad is a different key (NUM_KEYPAD_DIVIDE) than the one found on the normal keyboard. Ctrl+NUM_KEYPAD_DIVIDE is bound to 'toggle folding' per default, so it will add/remove the folding ruler column from the vertical ruler. There are always problems with non-alphabetic keyboard shortcuts, as some may not be accessible on some keyboard layouts. We try to avoid them, but these are there for historical reasons. . |
