Description Tom Hofmann CLA 2005-05-31 08:19:56 EDT
3.1-RC1

- open preference dialog
- enter 'build path' or 'print margin' (without quotes) as filter expression

expected: the relevant pages are found - either the intersection or the union of
the ones found by entering either one of the keywords as filter expression.

actual: no page is found
Comment 1 Dani Megert CLA 2005-05-31 08:33:29 EDT
Note that if I define:
      <keyword
            label="print margin"
            id="org.eclipse.ui.editors.general"/>

It correctly allows "print margin" and finds the page but I cannot define a
second keyword:
      <keyword
            label="line number"
            id="org.eclipse.ui.editors.general"/>

Only one contribution per ID seems allowed.
Comment 2 Dani Megert CLA 2005-05-31 08:53:56 EDT
The 'org.eclipse.ui.keywords' extension point doc doesn't describe that all
keywords have to be put into one label, it says:
  label - The human readable label of the keyword

and it's not obvious that only one label per keyword is allowed.

My duplicate (bug 154738) makes the following points...

1) Disallow spaces in the filter field. It seems that when you include a space
   the only mult-word matches are on the preference categories. For example,
   entering "Code Style" yields the "Java > Code Style" preference page.

2) Fully support multiple keywords by ANDing the search results for each
   keyword entered.

There are currently no plans to work on this feature but we would be interested in patches people wish to contribute.

As of now 'LATER' and 'REMIND' resolutions are no longer supported.
Please reopen this bug if it is still valid for you.
