Currently if tab group is not using entire window width, when minimized it look
like a "half tab" with min/max buttons.

It will be a much better representation of minimized tab group if it would be
shown as vertically stacked icons (especially for a view tab group). It will be
somehow consistent with quick view toolbar.

Optionally you can probably add an option to show tab titles turned on 90 deg.

This is a dupe of an earlier bug. I agree that this would be nice, but it's not
currently possible.

I tried implementing the vertical toolbar solution, but it looked silly (the
difference in appearance was jarring - nobody I showed it to liked it)... and
there is currently no way to render CTabFolder tabs sideways, so I can't use the
second solution.

I suspect that this would require implementing a custom widget that looks like a
sideways CTabFolder, but that's a big task.

Maybe you can just replace entire tabfolder with something simple, like panel
with a single vertically aligned label and min/max buttons?

Any plans to address this in post 3.1 or 3.2?
Comment 4 Tom Hofmann CLA 2005-08-24 04:41:26 EDT
Seems a dup of bug 76888, and also bug 88239 comment 7 mentions the problem (and
provides a mock up).

When implementing, bug 107819 should be considered to make the tabs look cleaner.
Comment 5 Paul Webster CLA 2006-09-28 11:01:05 EDT
There are currently no plans to work on this feature.

This has been superceded by the min/max behaviour in the new 3.3 presentation.
