I have two issues with the validation framework:

1) org.eclipse.wst.validation.internal.operations.WorkbenchContext appears to 
be what I need but it is marked internal meaning I would have to clone the 
class to minimize the chance of future breakage. I took a look at the WSDL 
validator in WTP and they too are subclassing WorkbenchContext.

2) When an artifact (file) to be validated is marked dirty, the getFiles() 
method on WorkbenchContext returns two files: a) the one actually modified and 
b) the carry over into .deployables. Is there any way to filter out 
the .deployables entries so they are not validated without any hardcoding of 
the path?

Another issue: the getURIs() method on WorkbenchContext always returns null.

There's a bug open for ignoring the .deployables folder.

Yen, For WTP 0.7 we do not plan to make WorkbenchComponent an api as all
validation api are defined as provisional. We will look into this for 1.0
timeframe and regarding the issue 2 in this defect as i have mentioned will be
fixed with server publishing feature.
