I added a link from the compare preference page to the color and fonts
preference page and would the compare node to be expanded and revealed.

The color and fonts preference page could accepts a data field containing the ID
of the section to reveal.
To stay open I would suggest to define that a 'Map' is used a data and specify a
key for reveal.

Yes it would so this will have to wait until 3.2.

this can be done without new API, we just need a convention how to pass the data.

This will also miss 3.3. If there is some contribution we could consider it for a later release.

As of now 'LATER' and 'REMIND' resolutions are no longer supported.
