Description

I've never seen this before. Does it really happen on every mouse click? Can you provide an exact set of steps for us to try here? Moving to UI for comment. I'm reducing the severity until we find out if this is repeatable etc.. Since this doesn't happen for us, the only way to debug this is remotely. Can you find out when it stopped working? For example, does 3.0.1 work and 3.0.2 fail? Also, does M7 fail? I've been using Eclipse for the last 4 months on a project without any problems. However, yesterday, when I brought up the IDE, I've noticed this strange patterns and ever since I wasn't able to work with Eclipse. The pattern goes like this.... Once the IDE comes up, I see the "Java" perspective divided into 4 sections including Package explorer, Java edit section, outline & problems/console/tasks etc. So, if I click my mouse icon on any of these sections, I am not able to use the mouse to click any other sections unless do an Alt-Tab and click some other application and then get back to Eclipse. But this time, I can only use the section, I've recently touched not any other sections....so I need to do an Alt-tab once again...and this continues...so basically, I can't use the IDE. I know it may sound strange...I've been using Eclipse for the last 3 yrs and never had problems....I've tried all the regular drill without success and spent most of yesterday trying to troubleshoot. Any help is greatly appreciated. I can also be reached at 602-523-1822 Thank you I've been using Eclipse for the last 4 months on a project without any problems. The problem has been resolved when I did a clean install and used 3.1.0 insted of the latest version. Does installing a clean 3.0.2 fix it? No.This problem has been resolved by installing "eclipse-SDK-3.1M7-win32.zip". The problem still persist in the version "eclipse-SDK-3.0.2-win32.zip". Thank you! Darn. MVM, do you want to follow up more? I think we need something we can reproduce on 3.0.2 in case we want to try and fix this in the 3.0 stream. Are the any exceptions in your workspace/.metadata/.log file? I do not see any exceptions or logs for the reported issue. All Iknow is I still have this problem with 3.0.2, but when I install 3.1M7 the issue seem to disappear. Thanks, Since no one else is seeing this, I suggest we close it as WORKSFORME and reopen again if the problem happens in M7 or 3.1. Hi, I have the exact same problem with Eclipse 3.1.0 (on Windows 2000, using either jdk 1.4.2 or 1.5). Is there any workaround or is there a version that does not have this problem? (I have been using 3.0 without any issues, but I would like to use a newer version if possible). Thanks, Chantal I'd this problem solved after I installed 3.1M7 of eclipse.Hope it will solve the problem Thanks, (In reply to comment #14) > Hi, > I have the exact same problem with Eclipse 3.1.0 (on Windows 2000, using either > jdk 1.4.2 or 1.5). > Is there any workaround or is there a version that does not have this problem? > (I have been using 3.0 without any issues, but I would like to use a newer > version if possible). > Thanks, > Chantal Great! Do you happen to have the url for it? I also tried the newer version 3.2M1, and it still had the problem in it :-( Thanks, Chantal It was little difficult to find....but atlast here it is... http://archive.eclipse.org/eclipse/downloads/drops/S-3.1M7- 200505131415/index.php Please let me know the outcome... Unfortunately, the problem did not go away :-(. I guess I'll have to use version 3.02 until someone finds a workaround or fixes the problem. Do you have an idea what this problem could be related to? It looks like it's not the java version. I wonder if it's related to Windows somehow? Maybe some driver? I also tried different mice, and it made no difference. Or maybe there is some setting that could make the problem disapper? Thanks, Chantal Is this still an issue in 3.2? (In reply to comment #19) > Is this still an issue in 3.2? > yes it is :-( Thanks, Chantal Reopening This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet. If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
