Description Phillip Avery CLA 2005-05-16 16:42:13 EDT
Need to investigate ways to improve the performance of formatting in SSE.
Formatting a reasonable sized file (maybe 500 lines or so) should only take
seconds, whereas now it seems like it can take up 10 or 20 seconds.

There are a number of reasons suspected:
- too many listeners are being notified for every edit, even though
formatting is really only changing whitespace

- quickdiff is listening

- as-you-type source validation listens to all edits

if we could minimize these notifications somehow, I think performance can be
brought under control.

priority bump to P2.
Comment 2 David Williams CLA 2005-06-22 17:05:18 EDT
I'll be looking into the "excessive notifications" part of this bug first.

I'm closing this one as a dup of client reported problem (esp. since they
attached a test file :)
