Description Markus Keller CLA 2005-05-06 04:38:35 EDT
N20050506-0010

The view content description is sometimes clipped because the view toolbar does
not wrap to a new line.

I'll attach a screenshot of the problem in the search view, but this applies to
other views as well. When I make the view even narrower, the toolbar finally
wraps and reveals the whole content description again (modulo wrapping of the
description itself, but that's bug 65138).

Is this still a problem in 3.3?

Yes, and it's still annoying ...
Comment 5 Eric Moffatt CLA 2008-04-03 13:15:24 EDT
Markus, I'm pretty sure that this is fixed by some work I did fixing the defect where the TB's weren't updating correctly. There was an assumption that if neither the old and new TB locations were 'top' then we didn't have to re-calc but I've removed that code.

I've tried the scenario as given and can't get any clipping to happen. Could you try and report back?

Synchronize view

(In reply to comment #5)
Nope, it's "fixed" in the Search view because Martin was too tired of this bug and abandoned setContentDescription(..).

Instead, the SearchView now creates its own label inside the content area. The drawback of this hack is that the description now never goes up to sit on the same line as the toolbar, even if enough space would be available for the two.

See e.g. the Synchronize view or the JUnit view for examples where this bug is still visible.

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
