Description Eric Jain CLA 2002-02-08 20:53:32 EST
If a project uses many external jar files, the packages view tends to get a bit
cluttered. A possible solution would be to group all jar files under one
heading such as "external resources" or "libraries".
Comment 1 Erich Gamma CLA 2002-02-10 17:58:53 EST
you can put the external JARs into a separate project and export them all. In
this way you can achieve a kind of grouping.

For 2.0 we will only provide to hide external JARs - defer

No plans to fix this for 2.1. Tagged as help wanted.

Chaning state from assigned later to resolved later. Assigned later got
introduced by the last bug conversion and is not a supported Eclipse bug state.

Any update on this? (It has been 3 years since last comment - surely 'later' cannot get much worse than that.)
Comment 6 Martin Aeschlimann CLA 2006-03-28 03:52:07 EST
No commitment of this item yet. Workaround is to use user libraries (see Java preferences).
Artificial nodes are always a problem, that's why we hesitate to do this.
