Following the "bottom-up" example the step of creating the Web Service, using
the New Web Service Wizard, results in the following error:  

IWAB0489E Error when deploying Web service to Axis runtime
  java.lang.NullPointerException

This occured with WTP 1.0M3

This appears to be a duplicate of 88349, at least the primary error message is 
the same. If you are seeing different detailed symptoms than described in 
88349, please re-open this bug with the full stack trace (if available) and an 
indication of what page you're on in the wizard and what you last clicked on 
prior to the error occuring.

I have applied the fix and I still get the error.

IWAB0489E Error when deploying Web service to Axis runtime
  java.lang.NullPointerException

I get to the service configuration deployment screen and click finish and I 
get that message.  I did a message in the tomcat log:

2005-06-16 15:09:18 StandardWrapperValve[AxisServlet]: Servlet AxisServlet is 
currently unavailable

I am sorry it is not a bug.  I had to change from JRE5 to JRE1.4.2 and it work 
just like it should.  With this error, the Axis.jar has to be in the lib for 
Tomcat also.  Thank you.

Verified as duplicate on behalf of submitter. There has been no activity on this bug in 15 months. Mark, please resubmit if the problem appears again on WTP 1.5.1 or higher.
