Description Christopher G. Stach II CLA 2005-03-24 13:54:33 EST
I have projects that are not in the same CVS module, but I still need to
compare them. Right now I have to manually diff. Compare with would be even
more useful if it could do these rather necessary things.

This sounds like CVS
Comment 2 Michael Valenta CLA 2005-05-06 10:21:46 EDT
The problem is that comparing two different modules in the repo view requires
them both to be checked out (i.e. there is no cvs command to do it). We can't
do it into the workspace so we would need to fake it. This is technicaly
possible but not a high priority.

The workaround is to check out both of the modules you want to compare and
them use the Compare with>Each Other command in the Resource Navigator

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it and remove the stalebug whiteboard tag. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
