Description Alex CLA 2005-03-03 14:21:50 EST
I am unable to export a large project to a jar file in Eclipse 3.01. When I
try I get an error "Creation of JAR failed Java heap space." I am able to do
it in 2.1.3 without any problems. But if I have both versions installed on
the same machine the exporting in 2.1.3 no longer works.

Moving to PDE/Build
Comment 2 Pascal Rapicault CLA 2005-03-10 13:32:09 EST
How big is the resulting jar file, how many class files?
Darin could that be a problem in Ant
Comment 3 Alex CLA 2005-03-10 13:40:35 EST
Appears to be the same problem being dealt with in Bug 82804. The jar file
comes out to be about 10.6Mb. I'm not sure the exact number of class files,
but must be atleast a couple hundred.

How are you creating your jar?
Comment 5 Alex CLA 2005-03-10 13:51:26 EST
I used the Export... option in the popup menu. Then selected JAR file...and
followed through the wizard.
We setup a temporary fix by launching eclipse from a .bat file with -vmargs -
Xmx512m and it seems to have enough memory.

I thought it was happening when exporting using PDE.
