Description Robert Danek CLA 2005-03-03 13:09:28 EST
The user needs to be able to request a method counts update (or perhaps a more
generic data update) from the piAgent. The reason this feature is required is
because the piAgent needs to know when to send the methodCounts fragments back
to the UI (see related bug 75266). Currently the piAgent only sends methodCounts
back when the JVM terminates. (When doing method coverage profiling in TPTP 4.0
and before, the user will see frequent coverage updates in the UI, but this is
only because every methodEntry/exit fragment gets sent back. As part of bug
75266 we will change this so that *only* methodCounts are sent when the
methodCounts option is chosen by itself.)

Curtis, assigned this to you for now because you were present at the meeting
where this requirement was discussed.

This will be required for the same release in which 75266 is eventually done.

IMPORTANT: This feature and bug 75266 must be committed together.

Not in plan for 4.4; Moving target to future
Comment 4 Paul Slauenwhite CLA 2009-06-30 06:44:36 EDT
As of TPTP 4.6.0, TPTP is in maintenance mode and focusing on improving quality by resolving relevant defects and increasing test coverage through test creation, automation, Build Verification Tests (BVTs), and expanded run-time execution. As such, TPTP is not delivering enhancements. As part of the TPTP Bugzilla housecleaning process (see http://wiki.eclipse.org/Bugzilla_Housecleaning_Processes), this enhancement is resolved as WONTFIX. For this enhancement to be considered, please re-open with an attached patch including the Description Document (see http://www.eclipse.org/tptp/home/documents/process/development/description_documents.html), code (see http://www.eclipse.org/tptp/home/documents/resources/TPTPDevGuide.htm), and test cases (see http://www.eclipse.org/tptp/home/documents/process/TPTP_Testing_Strategy.html).

As of TPTP 4.6.0, TPTP is in maintenance mode and focusing on improving quality by resolving relevant enhancements/defects and increasing test coverage through test creation, automation, Build Verification Tests (BVTs), and expanded run-time execution. As part of the TPTP Bugzilla housecleaning process (see http://wiki.eclipse.org/Bugzilla_Housecleaning_Processes), this enhancement/defect is verified/closed by the Project Lead since the originator of this enhancement/defect has an inactive Bugzilla account and it may be no longer relevant. If this defect is still relevant and reproducible in the latest TPTP release (http://www.eclipse.org/tptp/home/downloads/), please re-open.
