Description Billy Biggs CLA 2005-02-19 22:09:43 EST
I20050218-1600

GC.getAdvanceWidth() currently creates a new string containing just the given
character and calculates its extents. Since we only care about the size of one
character, we just need to determine which glyph corresponds to that character,
and return its width.
Comment 1 Billy Biggs CLA 2005-02-20 00:48:48 EST
The same problem applies to GC.getCharWidth().
Comment 2 Eric Williams CLA 2016-08-05 10:08:14 EDT
Looking at these two methods, this bug is still valid. Not sure on the relevance/importance so I am leaving it open.
Comment 3 Eclipse Genie CLA 2020-08-20 04:27:41 EDT
This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet. As such, we're closing this bug.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it and reopen this bug. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
