Hello,
The snippets view is very useful. It would be good to migrate this plugin from
the wst project to the platform project as a basic plugin which can be used for
everything else than web projects too...

The view currently requires GEF so it is unlikely to be moved into the platform.
 It's usage isn't limited to Web projects and files, however.  Double-clicks for
insertion should work with any text editor.

Nitin, as progress is made, pleaes document use in "any" editor vs. SSE based
editors.

It's an interesting idea, but we don't have time to pursue it at the moment (barring a high quality contribution).  Bug 69581 is seeing some real progress, however, so it may fill the need until this one can be done.
