Description Nick Edgar CLA 2005-01-04 11:56:21 EST
build I20041221

I tried double-clicking on a variable in the Variables view to expand it.
Instead, I now get the Change Object Value dialog.
I have to use the (tiny) +/- handle on the tree item to expand/collapse.

This is inconvenient, not just because of the much smaller size of the handle
compared to the size of the whole item, but because the view is often scrolled
over to the right. I find it easier to use the keyboard in this case, but this
is still slower than just double-clicking on the item if my hand was already on
the mouse.

It's already possible for me to edit the value in the lower pane, in a non-modal
way, which is better than the dialog approach.
If the modal dialog is still of benefit, I suggest giving it a separate Edit
action on the context menu, and reverting double-click to expand.

For more justification on using the whole item vs. just the handle for
expansion, Google for Fitts' Law. The asktog.com match is a good one.

Fixed in VariablesView. (hope we don't get complaints from the other side of
the fence).
