It's useful that import can now detect all the workspaces in a directory, but
it's a bit of a pain that it now always searches the full directory tree.

There needs to be a way of preventing the directory scan - surely once the
workspace directory is specified there's no need to scan more than one directory
below that.

What exactly are you trying to import and how?  We have several import
features...import from the File menu, preference import, etc...
