I was trying to export a directory in the workspace into a new zip file (which
would also reside in the workspace.  I was greeted with a completely useless
error message.  Shouldn't this be possible?

We should allow this but it might be tricky with file permissions

Now the error message is changed to a meaningful warning

Now you can import into the workspace and there is a meaningful warning also showed.
